Factlines acquires environmental impact tools

Ecotrack, a tool for assessing the environmental impact of products and services, has been acquired by Factlines, one of Alytic's portfolio companies. "Ecotrack fits well with our other products in the life cycle assessment segment. We are excited to include Ecotrack in our product mix," says Siri Engesæth, CEO of Factlines.

Developed by industry cluster GCE NODE as far back as 2013/2014, Ecotrack is a tool and methodology that helps companies analyze and document how their company impacts the environment. "Increased awareness of environmental costs and more eco-friendly alternatives makes it possible to design solutions that are better for the environment, better for your customers and better for you," explains Tom Fidjeland, CEO of GCE NODE.

"However, GCE NODE is not built to develop, maintain and sell software solutions like Ecotrack, which require continuous updates. We are very pleased to have found a home for Ecotrack in an organization dedicated to environmental reporting," says Fidjeland.

A GOOD MATCH

Leaders around the world are aware of the environmental costs their companies incur and are committed to reducing them. They expect nothing less from their suppliers. Companies that can demonstrate better sustainability are preferred partners and have a competitive advantage. This is exactly what Ecotrack and Factlines offer.

"Ecotrack is an excellent start for a modern digital tool for the environmental impact of products and services. The solution has been developed specifically for and by oil and gas suppliers, and it can be expanded to include other industries as well. This is what we want to do," says Engesæth.

She expects that the development and roll-out of Ecotrack to more GCE Node companies and other customers will take time. "We are in the process of recruiting resources that can further strengthen Ecotrack. We will work closely with companies affiliated with GCE NODE and others as we continue to develop this exciting tool," says Engesæth.

Factlines offers a digital solution to ensure responsible supply chains and was recently acquired by Alytic, a portfolio company of Arendals Fossekompani, which is also a member of GCE NODE. GCE NODE is an industry-driven cluster for ocean companies. GCE NODE has more than 100 member companies, most of which are world leaders in value chains with deliveries to the oil and gas, offshore, energy and maritime industries.
